Dieses Museum hält, was es verspricht. Für 5 Dollar Eintritt kann man in die Geschichte der Route 66 eintauchen. Von der „Dust Bowl“ bis zum „Diner“ – Fotografien, Erinnerungsstücke, Originale aus den unterschiedlichsten Regionen und Epochen der Route 66 – hier ist alles zusammen getragen. Route 66 Autor Michael Wallis erzählt vom Auf-und Niedergang der Straße, die passende Musik in den verschiedenen Ausstellungsräumen schafft echte Route 66 Atmosphäre.

Das Museum in Clinton, untergebracht in einem modernen Bau, mit modern anmutendem Neon, hat den Ruf das beste an der 66 zu sein. Das ist sicher Geschmacksache, auch in anderen Orten, wie Pontiac, Victorville oder Barstow gibt es sehr schöne 66 Museen. Aber wer auf seiner Reise durch Clinton kommt, sollte unbedingt einen Besuch des Museums einplanen. Es lohnt sich wirklich.
